Guided Walks

SOLD OUT - The Royal Road – Guided Walk with Ben Waddington of Still Walking | 11.30am

Corner of Elizabeth Ave. and The Holloway, Droitwich WR9 8QH
Event Map Reference 11

Royalty is all around us! This is especially true in a Jubilee year, but regal associations permeate our lives and our environment, with street and pub names, coinage and heraldic traces all holding subtle clues and meaning. Using the urban fabric as historical record, this guided walk explores the history of how our people, country and empire have been governed and reflects on others’ relationship with that power and privilege.

Cultural historian Ben Waddington leads this 80 minute guided tour of Droitwich Spa in search of the regal and the majestic, pitched somewhere between keen historical survey, pop-cultural inquiry and affectionate satire.

Please choose footwear suitable for urban walking and dress for the possibility of reign.

Places are fully booked for this event, however any cancellations will show on the Eventbrite or you can place your name on the standby list before 11am at the Event Information point at Droitwich Spa Heritage and Information Centre.

If you book a place and are no longer able to attend please cancel so we can give your place to someone else. The walk will leave promptly at 11.30am and places that have been booked but unclaimed at 11.25am will be passed onto anyone waiting on standby.
