Get involved in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!

We are looking for volunteers to help us to make Droitwich Spa’s jubilee celebration on Saturday 4^th June a big success. This is an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and help make something great happen for the town!

We need volunteers to do the following:

• Make paper flowers to decorate the town – this can be done from home and we can provide materials if needed.
• Distribute flyers and posters around the town and in neighbouring areas
• Help install paper flowers in shop windows on Friday 3^rd June and early morning (7am – 10am) Saturday 4^th
• Help to set up the site with signage, picnic tables and gazebos on Friday 3^rd June and early morning (6am – 10am) Saturday 4^th June
• Help to clear the site at the end of the event, including litter picking 7pm - 10pm Saturday 4^th June
• Assist with crafts activities at the event (you will need a DBS check for this role)
• Steward the event on Saturday 4^th June 10am – 7.30pm including:
  • Giving visitors information and helping people to find different activities around the town
  • managing crowds (ensuring performers have space to perform)
  • counting numbers of audiences for our evaluation
  • keeping an eye on technical equipment during and in-between performances
  • Alerting security and the event team if any issues arise (no need to deal with any complicated issues yourself, there are paid staff to do that)

Curiosity Productions is working with Droitwich Spa Town Council to manage this event and there will be a professional event team available to support you in your volunteering role.

If you are stewarding at the event on Saturday 4^th June there will be a briefing event on the afternoon of Friday 3^rd June that we will require you to attend.

You must be 16 or over to volunteer for this event.

You will be provided with:

• lunch and refreshments at the event
• travel expenses
• a Droitwich Spa Jubilee t-shirt
• a briefing and clear information so that you can carry out your role

About the event:

Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with family and friends in Droitwich Spa, with a fun packed day of live entertainment, food and fun for all ages. There will be performances and activities inspired by the Queen’s Green Canopy including the Platinum Jubilee Wishing Tree where you can add your green canopy pledge leaf. Join the street party in Victoria Square with local performers on stage and food and drink from Droitwich Spa Food festival, finishing with a Great British Singalong of songs from 1952 to today. There will also be loads of fun over at the Lido and park with a swimming gala, funfair, street art and brass bands. Discover local heritage and the town’s royal links with walks and an exhibition in the Heritage Centre. Most activities are free.
