About BAM
BAM: Babies' Adventures in Music is a music performance project that is designed to enchant and entertain babies and young children. Described by audiences as ‘magical’, ‘playful’ and ‘mesmerising’ - with parents often delighted that the shows are as much for them as they are for their little ones.

This warmly interactive performance for babies, families and friends celebrates music with a host of instruments, styles, gentle movements and stimulating sounds.
Performances feature harp, diatonic accordion, a range of stringed instruments, songs in different languages and lots lots more. We often theme the content around significant events, for example in January we will feature Chinese songs for Chinese New Year.
This is a rare opportunity for parents, carers and grandparents to attend a live concert with brilliant professional musicians, where babies are welcome to bounce, shout and crawl about. The event has a relaxed atmosphere designed to be flexible around you and your baby, with floor level seating (and chairs available), opportunities to join in, or just sit and relax and let the beautiful sounds of music from around the world wash over you and your baby.

Event details and technical requirements
Concerts are usually half an hour, with up to half an hour afterwards for audiences to meet the artists and the instruments. The performances are very relaxed with families invited to come and go, move around and feed babies as and when they need to.
We can provide two concerts in one day (usual timings are late morning and early afternoon e.g. 11.30am and 2pm)
We need approximately 2 hours for get-in and an hour to get-out.
Capacity is dependent on the venue. We can be very flexible in a space and do not require any technical support, the performance is acoustic, unless it is a very large space and audience, and then we may need a lapel mic for the singer.
For the performance space/ stage we just need space for two musicians to have a chair each, and their instruments (including a concert harp) and space to stand in front of that, and room for the audience to sit comfortably.
As the performance is for babies and their families we find it best to mainly seat audience on the floor with some chairs around the edge for those who need it. If a venue can provide mats or cushions for people to sit on that's really helpful.
More About the BAM artists and Curiosity Productions
The BAM and Curiosity Productions team are all experienced professionals, each with over 20 years experience in the industry. We have been delivering BAM concerts since 2017 and have a successful regular monthly concert at Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham that regularly sells out two shows in one day with a capacity of 70 adults per show (plus babies).

BAM Performances are led by singer and harpist Sam Frankie Fox and multi-instrumentalist Ricardo Santos Rocha and the productions are supported by Curiosity Productions. Sam and Ricardo are very warm hosts as well as skilful musicians and Early Years specialists. Their combined experience and playful personalities ensure that events have an inviting, stimulating and relaxed atmosphere.
Originally from Wales and Portugal, the BAM artistic directors are based in the Midlands and work locally, nationally and internationally. They love to perform music from across the globe, so every performance includes a rich variety of songs from different cultures (in a range of languages) and unusual and exciting instruments.
Beyond BAM, Fox and Rocha have a broad portfolio of live performances and recorded work, with projects having been presented at and with Cheltenham Jazz Festival, The British Council Showcase and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Biggest accolades include Fox’s music being played on Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service on BBC Radio 6 Music and Rocha’s collaboration on the soundtrack of short animation film Água Mole (Drop by Drop) being presented at Cannes Film Festival 2017. Both also have extensive experience of working with children and adults with a range of disabilities and sensory impairments, and collaborate regularly with the charity Sense. Suspended Motion, a collaborative dance-film made with Sense, features their experimental musical work (scored to use SubPac technology), is currently being included within the official selections for a large number of international film festivals.
