Announcement: Working with Keneish Dance!

We are thrilled to be working with Keneish Dance on two exciting projects!

Keneish Dance, in collaboration with Black Story Partnership, Birmingham Dance Network & ourselves, is inviting artists, creatives, promoters, commissioners and programmers to help design a new annual event that will support artists from all artforms whose practice has or could have a connection to dance and movement.

Artist Development | Focus group and co-planning meeting

When: 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Tuesday 23rd May

Where: 7SVN, 77A Upper Trinity St, Digbeth, Birmingham, B9 4EG

This project is inspired by ‘Apple Tree’ Art Night Out, which was produced by Keneish Dance in 2017 in collaboration with established contemporary jazz and soul artists from Birmingham, and supported by ACE Dance and Music and Dancexchange.

Keneish Dance are themselves working on a new R&D Dance project, commissioned by Warwick University and funded by Arts Council England, and they are looking for opportunities to showcase their work and to continue to develop their practice. They’d like to invite others to join them and create a shared opportunity with other artists in the city and region.

'We want to build on this multisensory experience in collaboration with different artists that use dance or are interested in having dance as part of their practice.'

If you want to attend, please RSVP at: [email protected]

If you have any questions about the event, are only able to come for part of the session, have any access needs, or have a suggestion on how we can make this event more comfortable for you, please get in touch!

This co-design workshop is funded By Birmingham City Council Cultural Leadership Fund.

We will be also be looking for partners to host performances in 2024 of the piece they're developing this summer in partnership with the University of Warwick. Watch this space!
