Curiosity Club 2025 Volunteer Callout

Two adults at Curiosity Club are helping two young children with their craft projects.
We're looking for volunteers to help at our Curiosity Club inclusive creative holiday activity days, Saturday Clubs and creative stay and play throughout 2025.

Curiosity Club is a series of inclusive and accessible activity days for children aged 5-13 that takes place at St Patrick's Church Hall in Heath Town during school holidays. The activities are currently funded through City of Wolverhampton Council and the Department of Education. Sessions will run on 14th to 17th April, and between 11th and 29th August.

The new Curiosity Saturday Club is based on the holiday club model and will also take place at St Patrick's Church Hall. Exact dates are still tbc, but will probably start in May. Sessions will run 1.30pm-4pm with set-up from 12.30pm and clear-up until 5pm.
The new Creative Stay & Play sessions for early years and their families will also start in May, we are still working on confirming a day and venue for those. It will be during the daytime on a weekday.

Are you looking for experience in child care or community arts? Would you like to help give children more opportunities to be creative?

Could you:

🖍 Assist in running activity days for children

🖍 Assist in delivering inclusive activities and games

🖍 Encourage creativity and imaginative play

🖍 Support children with additional needs

🖍 Help with preparing and serving food

Volunteers must be DBS checked, we can arrange this for you.

Training provided.

Travel expenses covered.

You will be part of a team with experienced facilitators.

If you have children aged 5-13, they can attend the holiday club or Saturday sessions with you when you are volunteering.

If you have children aged under 5 they can attend the creative stay & play with you when you are volunteering. It may be trickier for them to attend the holiday or Saturday clubs but we'd be happy to discuss that with you, as it depends on the age and needs of your children.

At St Patrick's Church Hall there is a ground level step free entrance with a platform stairlift up to the first floor where most activities take place.

The stairlift has a seat and can also accommodate a standard size wheelchair. It may not be large enough for some powered wheelchairs so please contact us to discuss if you feel that this could be an issue for you. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

There is a quiet space at the venue where participants can take time out from the main activity, which will be facilitated by a Curiosity Club activity leader and can also be utilised by team members if needed.

There is a carpark with reserved accessible parking spaces at both sites.
